Center Console LED Color Swap

Center Console LED Color Swap
I'm not a fan of that weird greenish color for the center console buttons. In my old car(Camry), if you accessed the board behind the buttons the LED just had a plastic capsule you could just pull off and the LED would show up blue. Is this the same case in our cars or does the LED have to be replaced? I have a 2008.
I did a search and came up with some several year old threads about this and there was a supposed DIY but it looks like it was taken down for some reason, not sure why.
Anybody try this?

You can change the color if you like to solder very tiny LEDs. Lexus did not use a colored plastic to change the color of the LEDs. There were a few threads in the 2IS forum about this years ago, and there are some small businesses out there who do this work, but no site sponsors AFAIK.
I did this to my Scion tC in 2005, but would not want to attempt it on a 2IS just because it's too much work for such a small change.

Sounds like you've not actually done this. I would charge at least that, probably more if it were something I wanted to do. I don't want to, once was enough. I spent many years working depot level electronics maintenance in the Air Force. I am very good at soldering, it's just a huge PITA job with those tiny LEDs.
