Wheel hop always rears it's head from a dig. It's pretty easy to invoke it if you know what to do - mash the gas from a dead stop and have an observer look to see tire shake. If you see it, you've got wheel hop. If the car just hooks and goes, you don't have it. I know what it feels like now, so I don't even need an observer.

I am working on installing the 36J LS460 F-sport diff on my 07 LS. I was wondering about the 2 rear diff mounts(cushions ) , do I need a press tool to remove or install it ?

I did mine with an air chisel. Seems to be the most common method. I doubt you'd find an easy way to do this with a press, there's no easy way to push on the outer collar.

A press for installing the OEM bushings, but I don't believe they are available separately. If you're doing the polyurethane bushings, nothing special at all. Super easy install.

To bad on my LS460 , I have to remove the subframe to get clearance for the diff mount ( cushion) . It's too narrow.

I have a 2009 with a build date of 9/2009.
above shows that the Torsen diff was introduced in 8/2009.

Does this mean I have a 2009 with a torsen diff. Or would it have to be an official 2010 model?

Shoot a pic of your build sheet inside the driver's side door on the B pillar and I can easily answer this question. Or PM me your VIN and I'll look it up in TIS to see what you got from the factory.

You can jack up the rear of the car and look for the id sticker on the drivers side of the diff:

48J is the open diff (08-09)
58J is the Torsen diff (10-14)
