Spotting the LSD DIFF-erences for ISF
Hey all, I am on the search for an MY10 onward "pumpkin" or complete diff for my 09 ISF. I am sick of the single spinning, its doing my head in.. One of the reasons i bought this car was to get sideways and have some fun when safe (on the track etc of course, or in Mexico where everything is legal).
I found what a wrecker is calling an LSD diff for the car, but the problem is that the DIFF came from a 2009 compliance (2008 build) ISF. Which obviously comes with the non LSD. There doesn't seem to be any way (without cracking the back of the diff, which he wont do) to check if it actually is an LSD with the Torsen diff centre. Which under no load acts like a single spinner non LSD (as told by Lexus tech, who knows far better than me).
Does anyone know any magical way to check, barring putting it into the car and trying it? I am so torn, price is good, but its in a different state and seems too risky..
Thanks in advance

Thanks Mike, I would have thought so too..
Its very frustrating as its sitting there at the wreckers just begging to put my car sideways!
Here are some photos of the diff in question

Maybe their is a part number cast in? I think they have different part numbers.
I'm surprised you have that much of a problem getting sideways, My ELSD will get pretty sideways when I need it too, it's nothing like the open diff I used to have in my 240. Maybe I just have a lot of practice.

I can get sideways haha, but its kind of like, single spinnnnnnnnnnnnallllgooood FUKN SIDEWAYS!!!!! Im so used to proper LSD's and a progressive step out, fun controllable sliding. E-Diff is madness, like a switch between straight and out snap oversteer. Only problem is i dont know when the switch will turn on.

After installing the OS Giken TCD, I would not go to all the work of replacing the diff just to install a Torsen. Sure, they're better than a fully open diff, but once one side loses traction (like lifting the inside rear on track out), you're no better off than an open diff. It was worth every penny, and I can say I was a bit skeptical about being able to notice it driving around town, but I was quite wrong, it is very noticeable especially with the stiffness of the '08 suspension.
I need to put an OS in my Supra now. That OEM Torsen just doesn't cut it anymore.
