Default Can 2011 rear rims be run on the front and rear?

To get at extra half inch of rim up front, and since it is impossible to find a set of 2012 rims, is it possible to buy a pair of rear wheels and use them on the front? Anyone done this? Are there any mechanical mechanisms that prevent this?

I don't think it will work since offset is 55? Might be too conservative but I'm not sure

I have my doubts as well. I'm running RCF wheels on my ISF. The fronts are 9" wide with an offset of +50mm. The inner edge of the rim comes within a whisker of the front A arm. I would suspect with the +55mm offset, the inner edge of the rim may rub. The rear wheel of the 2011 ISF is 9" the front 8", so you'll gain an inch up front, not ½"

Thanks guys.

Lou--do you know if there is any mechanical reason why they wouldn't fit on the front? For example, on my G Coupe there is a bolt in the front wheel hub that prevents the rears from being moved up front, but that is easily removed.

I guess a set of minimal spacers might be able to make this work then. The 8" rim width really stinks. Thanks also for the reminder on the 9" width! My bad.

I wish this car was easier to jack up to do a test fit. What jack are people using to easily raise the F? Any recommendations (will search as well)?

^^^^I had a G Coupe also, and know of what you speak. I replaced the wheels on my G with Nismos and sold my OEM wheels to a Z owner.

I have inspected both ISF, RCF wheels and the ISF wheel hubs, and saw no such impediment.

Yeah, I have a nice set of Volks on the G that I'd love to put on the F, but the low offsets on the G make that impossible. I'm going to be at the tire shop tomorrow and I'll ask them if they can test fit a rear on the front and report back.

So in theory a 10mm spacer should provide sufficient clearance?

I've ran the front wheel on the rear but have not tried the rear on the front. I would think a 10 or 15mm spacer would be sufficient but you would also probably need extended studs. Next time I have the front wheels off I'll try it out.

Never finished this thread, but since I'm about to go this route I figured I should chime in with my findings (better late than never...)

The 9" rim on the front is probably a mm away from clearing on the oem setup. I'm planning to go with a 10mm spacer and put a set of rear wheels on the front with 255 tires.

Spacers will go on soon, however, rear rims up front will not occur until new tires are needed. I will further test fit with the 10mm spacers once ey are on the car to verify fitment.
