High Altitude + Tune = Think again (bye KCLV)

Why would they find a middle ground? Wouldn't it lead to the same results currently being addressed in this thread? Why not have multiple maps and users can run whatever map suits them best and gives them the most power the safest.
My house in Colorado Springs sits at 6600', so I would never consider buying a blanket tune that works best in elevations that I will probably never see.
If they don't want to spend the time to supply to the above guesstimated %5 of us up in this clean, crisp air, then I wouldn't bother with a tune. I completely understand that it's a business decision as RRR doesn't want to lose money, but if it's as simple as viewing data logs and adjusting numbers to prevent knock, I hope they cater to us.

That's awesome! So now everyone with a tune just needs to by stock in Octanium and we will be good to go! What's the point of a tune if you have to put octane booster In every time you fill up? Man, just seems like there are still a lot of bugs to be worked out before I plop down $700.

No, you could install a water/meth injection system and then you wouldn't need to add anything to the gas. You'd get significantly higher octane ratings with the injection system anyways and in the long run it would probably be cheaper. Plus, you'd already be prepped for the supercharger system without intercooler.
The man is right; there's no reason to buy tunes if they're so unrefined that people are seeing knock correction in daily use.

For us CA peeps, looks like in order to maintain the KCLV levels over 20 reliably, you might need to add a can of octane booster every fill up. What's strange is I was able to bring KCLV levels over 20 without any octane booster a month ago, maybe I got a bad tank of gas recently?

I think people who have access to 93 octane at lower altitudes will benefit the most from the tune, for those at high altitude it looks like no amount of increase in octane will raise their KCLV levels unless a re-tune was made specifically for them..

That's my point. I'm not trying to bad mouth RR-Racing because I appreciate their efforts in this endeavor. However, they can't create a "tune" that works in one particular environment (those at sea level with access to 93 octane fuel) and try to sell/market it to the rest of the world as a one size fits most tune with incredible gains. I have read through all the tuning threads on here and it just seems so hit or miss as to if the tune actually works. If I have my car tuned, I shouldn't have to worry about putting octane booster In at every fill up... or have to worry about constantly hooking up to techstream to verify my KCLV levels to make sure my tune is working. Just my .02.
The tune is relatively new. Once we get a sense for how the cars behave in different regions, we can simply modify the tune a bit and send the user the update, and others will benefit from that going forward. So right now we are working on a tune that will be less sensitive to lower octane levels.

Does the tune work on European cars as well? Would be interested to see what happens over here. We got 95, 98 and at some gas stations 100 or 102 octane. I'm at an altitude of 1700ft

That stuff is not cheap. Is it better than Torco?
The VP website shows not safe for O2 sensors and Cats??

May not matter to those with straight pipes...

So that one day your meth injection fails and your high-strung tune, which relies on the meth, can grenade your engine. Yeah great idea. "Run a meth injection system instead of octane booster" hurrdurr. Are you series?

Update:
Liquidtek pulled the KCLV values of a local member here with a stock tune (like me) and his numbers were also low they were 11.5/13 IIRC............
So what does that say about KCLV numbers when they are low with a stock tune?!?! My numbers were considerably higher when he pulled mine at 17.8/19.5.........
Opinions?
