I just used the 1/2" black out tape from Outmotoring to do my trim.
A couple of tips:
1) I used the matte tape recommended in the forum, but I strongly recommend the gloss black. The matte looks fine, but the gloss would match better. The matte kind of looks like it needs some Armor All...I might redo it some day with the gloss. I'm really not sure why the matte was recommended, it seems like the gloss is intuitively the correct match.
2) One roll of the tape should be more than enough.
3) Everything was really easy. The tape is very flexible and forgiving.
4) One key tip: when you are doing around the edge of the rear window where it has the 90 degree angle, if you start the tape on the bottom edge of the window and then wrap it UP around that bend, it is super easy to get the whole thing in one piece. For some reason, on the first window I started at the top of the window and tried to go down around that bend and had to do a cut. Not sure why the big difference, but it was really easy to get around that bend when coming up on it.
5) That's about it. It looks much better and probably took 30 minutes. I'll post some pics tomorrow because it's too dark to get a good pic tonight.
Now go do it!

Start on the farthest left of the horizontal window chrome that butts up against the drivers door then go all the way around to the top left of the window near the drivers door in one piece. Peel about a foot or less of the backing off at a time. I was letting the roll lay on the ground as an anchor as I did the lower chrome then moved it onto the roof when coming up on the curve and then doing the upper horizontal chrome piece.

Front doors don't matter bc the chrome pieces don't connect.
For rear window, go to the right towards the trunk, up around the corner and then left towards front door.

Got it?

So I just did this with the glossy tape last night, and while it certainly looks OK from 5 feet away, overall I don't think it is the best looking option. Up close it looks like I just wrapped electrical tape on my trim. Pretty cheap looking... but it is cheap, so I guess that is what you expect? It gets the job done and doesn't take long to do, but I will be redoing it using another method at some point, that is for sure.

... looking at other threads, it seems the matte tape blends better and doesn't stand out like the gloss does (in a bad way). I may give that a shot and see if it helps it look more original.

Interesting. I wonder if the gloss is harder to shape. I just got my glossy and will try a window this weekend and report back. If it's not good, I have enough of the matte tape to redo it. Perhaps it will end up being that matte is less glossy than stock and glossy is more glossy, and neither are perfect.
Great thing is that for 10 bucks a roll, it's easy to try both!
