I looked into the M3's and S4's before choosing my IS F. I chose the IS-F because it was the least common. I see S4's and M3's every day but I only see another IS F once in awhile. Also the reliability and V8 won me over. I do however miss driving a manual and may switch it up soon. I'm not in a hurry though and still enjoying the car.

In short ..... 15 track days in 2 years and the only issue was a squeaky driver seat that required tightening the bolts at the bottom of the seat .

Find me a BMW M3 with those numbers

Impressive indeed. That speaks loads for how much work Toyota/Lexus puts into their engines. They make power, they perform amazing, and they last forever.

Carlos Lago said it best in his review..

"its like the quiet accountant in your office who gets into a bar fight and then you find out later he has been secretely training in MMA for years"

As for me, this is why it is special
my ISF makes me feel free and I stop thinking about everything else when I am driving
smooth like cutting into butter when you push the lever
peace of mind and I can push any buttons on her unlike my wife..

Reliability of a huge v8 in a small little car that turns a lot of heads...

The F's special to me because it's Toyota's take on the American idea of a (relatively) big V8 motor stuffed into a (relatively) small car.

For me - the F is the perfect balance of street stealth, serious performance, rarity and reliability. There are no other cars that check all of those boxes.

Do you you think the negative reviews on the suspension and ride for the 2008s killed the desirability of the car for good? I mean to go from 2700 to 436 in year two--Lexus must have thought they were going to do pretty well after the initial sales figures only to get hammered in year two.

it seems like it could never recover from whatever the stigma was after year one. Perhaps that's good, as there might have been 21000 Fs if they sold 3k per year

I wonder what other cars only sold 86 units in 2014????

But as mentioned above, the 2 different characters the car can have is awesome! Can blow the doors off just about anything on the road, then can drive as smooth and sophisticated as can be and get 28+ mpgs!! 8 speed transmission was the first ever in 08 as well!
Also wasn't the IS300 lexus' first attempt in the performance sector?! Decent performance car... still love mine....but the F is on a totally different level!
