How many speeding tickets have you gotten since you got your ISF?

I got a few. Tomorrow got traffic court for a 100 on a 60. Im lucky the trooper didnt brought me to jail that morning, (still could go
) or got killed for being late to work and stupid. Just a tip, all counter measures dont work if you are merging into the main highway at high speed and the trooper is cruising already on the highway. ![Egads!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/pat.gif)

Zero tickets, but a few close calls. I have a cheap radar detector (Cobra) but have found it picks up Chevy/GMC vehicles that have certain safety features, maybe lane departure I'm guessing. Anyway it is very annoying to have it go off for this. To the owners with Valentine/Escorts do you have this problem? I'm thinking about upgrading.

A good quality radar detector filters out all the "junk". The first thing you'll notice with a good one, is how quiet it is, because it's not beeping constantly. When a good detector does alarm, it is definitely worth paying attention to, as it's usually not a bogus false alarm.
Do yourself a favor, and get an Escort (I've got the 9500 ix), or Valentine 1. It's worth it.

I just got one 3 weeks ago in the F. Wasn't for speeding but rather driving in the carpool lane by myself. The worst part was that I got into the HOV lane because I thought it was a regular lane (no solid line separating the lanes). About 5 seconds later I saw the triangle painted on the ground so I got out. Unfortunately an officer was cruising a couple cars back and lit me up. Tried to explain what happened but he didnt care.

knock on wood, I haven't gotten pulled over in my F since first owning it in 2011. I always use the Waze app so that helps, but I also have a 11-99 Foundation license plate frame. I thought I'd get pulled over for no front plate and front tinted windows, but the cops just usually keep driving past me.

I've got an Escort Passport 8500 hard wired with a mute button right next to my throttle controller. Handy as I seem to have to hit it a lot when it's on...
Saved me once. Two tickets in the F since May 1st 2014, traffic schooled them both. Waze didn't do anything for me, but I'm not opposed to trying again.
While I don't have any experience with the best of the best radars, I don't trust radars beyond, say, 20% confidence.
Take my last ticket for example. I was whipping around a curve to get some of the rust off my rotors after a wash and saw the incoming cop on the opposite side. I'm certain I saw him first and hit the brakes in time. That and there was a train overpass in his way - seemed impossible for him to laser me let alone SEE me until I was slowing down. He U'd, pulled me over 5 minutes later, claimed I was doing 72 (in a 40) and was pissed, threatening arrest. While his threat irritated me more than it did frighten me, I had a choice. Either request to see his radar, or be agreeable & "yes officer - understood officer" him so he'd whittle it down to a lesser charge. I hedged my bets on the latter because I knew I was moving into the area soon & didn't want to infuriate the dork. I didn't want to make an enemy or risk having my F towed. I wanted badly to see his claimed 72 (which was BS), but figured, again, it'd kill any hopes for a negotiation. I got him into a conversation & he whittled it down to 20 over. He then said "I'm a car guy, what's this, a turbo 2.8? Sounds good." 250 bucks & a LONG online traffic school later, my record is clean.
Radar serves zero purpose in this particular situation. I feel if the cop says you're going fast, they'll find a way to get you. In Cook County, the days of "if the cop doesn't show up in court it'll get thrown out" are over - they don't even need to show up. That being said, the decision I made above never sat completely right with me.

If you're in a State that uses Ka-band and phased away the K and X bands, turn those 2 off and you'll be good to go.
