Car insurance - very limited options for ISF
What's the deal with the blood sucking insurance companies? I am trying to switch insurance and nobody wants to insure my ISF. The only 2 companies that are willing to insure it is MetLife and Progressive.
So I started calling around, the got this "VIN invalid", after I dug a little deeper it turns out a lot of insurance companies are refusing to insure high performance vehicles, and a lot of companies are also upside down, meaning they have more claim payouts than revenue.
Bottom line, who are you guys insuring your ISF with, and how much is it running? I am going for 250K per person, 500K per accident, 100K for property damage and a deductible of $500.
I am also wondering if this whole thing is an insurance company scam, where they limit you to 1 or 2 companies, I know they share information among themselves.

I have similar coverage like you shown above, and was paying $80/m for just the car. This month it went up to $90/m and the agents claim its an across the board increase for many policy holders in the area (yeah right).
I have a clean record though, so this may vary to your individual record or even down to Zip Code.

I'm paying $139/month. I would increase your collision and comprhensive deductibles to $1,000 to lighten your load on the wallet. Collision premiums and Bodily Injury coverage is the most expensive on this car but what I don't understand is why bodily injury is so much more expensive on the IS-F than the IS350. It's basically the same exact car. I guess they feel your more likely to kill someone else in a 400hp car?

I didn't have a problem at all either. I have a clean record. I went with Geico and pay ~150/mo for two full coverage cars with similar liability and deductibles as you mention. Maybe your record, the rules of the state or the vehicles history are part of the difficulty you are experiencing. Good luck.

I'm using Geico too... ~$170/month for the IS-F, a Toyota Highlander, and a Ford Ranger.. I only have liability coverage on the Ranger, and my comprehensive deductible for the others is $1K.

Wow, I'm gonna have to check out Geico. I'm paying $246/month for the same cars minus the Ford Ranger and I have a clean record.
