During my last trip to Mexico I got it up to 145ish before I got a little nervous and shut it down. Would love to see what it would do on an airstrip

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Question for you, how come passenger airliners can't go above 600+ mph??

couple of answers.. fms restriction, altitude restriction, engine downrated, design of wings. gate restrictions.etc.. but the most basic without hijacking this thread is fuel economy.. more speed = increases drag.. more drag = more fuel burn.. more fuel burn = higher operating cost.. higher operating cost = goodbye to $59 southwest fares..

158mph at Pocono Raceway this past July. It was my first time on a big oval track like that, so I was relatively cautious at first. Plus my tire pressures & suspension settings were the same as I'd used all day on the road course. With a few adjustments & some added confidence from the last experience, I think I could easily reach the mid-160s next time.

Last time I made my trip down to mexico my speedo read a little above 160, all stock. The incredible thing is how stable the car feels at that speed.

Exactly! I went to Mexico all stock (besides my front lip spoiler) and saw 172 and it was still pulling....and it felt more comfortable/stable than my IS300 at 90-100 mpg! Sooooo smooth.
I'm lowered and have JoeZ exhaust now and in triple digit speeds it feels faster and even smoother... although I have been past 150 since these last mods. Would like to take it to an airstrip to see where it really tops out at.

V.
