My iPhone Xs is pending iOS 13 update. Has anyone with a VL2 taken the leap? Just want to be sure CarPlay will still launch and music and phone apps working, before pressing [Download and Install] button on my phone.
Surely GROM has tried it and can comment; but I would welcome anyone’s comment in this regard.

Thanks for responding with your results. My phone is updating now.
I’m on what I believe is latest VL2 LEX5VL2 firmware/update; VCore: V20VL2.1 with V20VL2.7.0.0 (20.44.L22) software; I updated it 2 weeks back. That is my other pet peeve with GROM; they provide updates with no release notes. It should be possible to register for notification of updates, and know what they address.

I just waited until I got confirmation from you guys that it was fixed before I went to iOS 11 lol.

I used the ios 13 and 13.1 beta with my VL2 in a GS350 runn 2.7.0.0 or something on the VL2 with no issue, I know the ISF VL2 unfortunately has more issues, but i can at least give a small data point.

After my iPhone Xs update to iOS 13, everything is still working well with the VL2. CarPlay splitscreen is a nice improvement. I checked the VL2 for updates and there was a new firmware file sine my last check. I applied that and confirmed still working. For what it is worth the two LEX5 configurations I confirmed with were:
VCore V20VL2.7.0.0 VBase 20.44(L22) and
VCore V20VL2.7.0.0 VBase 20.48(L22).
VCore V20VL2.7.0.0 VBase 20.44(L22) and
VCore V20VL2.7.0.0 VBase 20.48(L22).

I have an issue since updating to IOS 13 on my Iphone X. When I connect via Personal Hotspot, it connect OK (shows on the Grom as connected with good signal etc) although no data is transferred (internet unavailable) I've tried on my laptop and it both see's and connects via Hotspot.
I've reset the phones network settings and forgotton the device on the headunit then set it up again as new although still not working.
Anyone else had this issue??

Firmware if unit is bricked
Hey guys if you have a situation that you can't boot up your vline2 unit try this it worked for me. I bricked my unit because I updates using beta user firmware. After doing this the unit wasn't booting after even unplugging the unit. For some reason they told me to rename it gromvl1.hex. I confirmed by calling them up and they said it's ok with vl2 units.
My car is the 2007 lexus ls 460.
"Please do not update the unit unless instructed to do so.
You will need a USB flash drive. Make sure is freshly format FAT32 that is empty.
Download the file onto the USB flash drive and rename it gromvl1.hex
1. Before proceeding with loading the firmware,
Switch the radio to to FM before turning off and unplugging the Vline module
2. Switch Ignition OFF
3. Unplug the VLINE module from the vehicle
4. Insert the USB flash drive with the renamed file gromvl1.hex into the lower USB port (labeled USB2)
5. Reconnect power to the VLine module. Pay attention to the LED light on the USB drive, It should flash and then turn off. Once LED is off then the firmware is flashed/loaded.
6. After the firmware flashed, simply turn Ignition to ON position, then OFF then ON, wait for 10 seconds after Splash screen off, then press DISC button and see if it displays Vline logo or anything Vline related
Let me know if you have any questions about the process and steps."

Is anyone else have issues with slight audio destortition? I can mostly hear it in voices, like when navigation is speaking. I wasn't sure if this is normal or if there is something wrong with my unit. I do hear it in audio too, but it's less noticeable.

Try adjusting the volume level in Dashlinq -> Settings. Make sure you're on the latest everything.

We just rolled out the new Android update 3.1.0.0 for VL2:
- New audio player for all plugins. More media formats supported, stable playback
- Reworked voice assistant. Still in works. Better support for voice search in plugins and directions
- Fixes for OTA updates that bricked some unit in the past. There will be no black screen anymore after update.
- Better third party apps management
- CarPlay/AA integration with the rest of the system
We will roll out the new car specific firmwares that address minor issues and add deep sleep ability to remove the boot phase. It will start up instantly.
Make sure to update Android first before trying car specific firmware update !
How to update
Make sure to connect to Wifi network with internet access to be able to install latest OTA updates.
