Make sure to update VBase part as explained here and match your gen carefully before installing:
http://gromaudio.com/software-vl1.html
It is not a part of OTA yet.

I got it going again, I appreciate your guys quick response and support. I am again a happy camper. Mine seems to running smoother now as well in other regards, I was able to get Google Maps working among some other small things I noticed while not connected to CarPlay.

Again, thank you guys for your promptness in addressing my issue.

Here's a video to watch in all it's glory. I'd love a suggestion as to what I can try so I don't need to unplug my unit each time I turn off my car.

Can you try turning on ignition only without starting the car ?

If I leave the car for several minutes and return, the vline will boot without needing to physically remove the power to the unit.

I just did the following (once):
Accessory power - unit booted - i turned off accessory power - waited 30 seconds - turned back on accessory power - unit booted
Then
Started car - unit booted - turned off car - waited 30 seconds - turned back on accessory power - continuous reboot

Go to DashLinQ Settings->VLine Sleep Scheduler
Make sure it is off (check and uncheck to make sure).
It might confuse the system if it is on currently.

Theres no vline sleep scheduler that I can see. If I click into the dashlinq settings, I can't scroll vertically. In the Android settings I don't see anything about the sleep scheduler.

Its random. I've had success and failure starting, using accessory, and all combinations. Sometimes it goes to continuous reboot, sometimes it's fine.

I'm having the same issue with the constant reboot, but it seems to be working now after unplugging and reconnecting all connections from the Vline unit and then doing the initial startup procedure as referenced in the manual. It does seem very finicky about when you plug your phone into the usb cable. If I plug my phone in before booting to the Grom dashboard, it will go into perpetual boot mode showing the "Vline" screen and then color bars just like the video you posted. This is on a 2005 LX470.

If the carplay icon goes grey after plugging your phone in, try rebooting your phone or going into the carplay settings on the phone and click "forget this car". Then try plugging your phone in again. This seems to work for me.

My reboot problem appears to be fixed now. I did a complete reset of the unit (erased all settings). Is that what yo mean by following the initial startup procedure? I'm still getting random reboots now, but haven't been stuck in a continuous loop since starting fresh.

johsti rehr0001 Can you see any particular pattern when restart is occurring ? We need to simulate the scenario here.

Was thinking about returning my bt3 for the vline , but it looks like it's still a long way from being a "complete" solution.😞
