Definitely agree with you here, however, I do feel the frustration for those who have continued to have issues. Last year when I was dealing with the boot loops, I wanted to love it, but hated the inconsistency and felt nothing but frustration.

Grom was on top of everything, though, and it did not take long to get the unit stable enough for daily use without the pains of the early days.

Thank you again, Grom for making my commute enjoyable and giving my driving experience a makeover!

It has been a year, but finally GROM Vline has produced a stable product that I can recommend because it has add values to our outdated system.

I just installed this, it's WELL worth the $1. It's a far better than the built in launcher. The interface is a lot easier to navigate, it overall look and UI is far better and seems quicker. I would highly recommend the upgrade!

For those of us still relatively new to Android... does "Car Launcher AG" change any of the functionality of the VLine or is it mostly just a skin? Mostly just wanting to make sure I can still use the Local Music app provided by Grom.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly is being changed in the newer hardware? I've been contemplating getting one for my IS, but I've been holding off because of the reports of lagginess/unresponsiveness. I'm assuming CPU/memory changes?

It's mostly a "skin".

So according to the chart earlier in this thread (having trouble copy and pasting), the Gen5 is compatible with LS MY 2007-2009. I have to wait until Gen7 for compatibility with an LS MY 2013-2014. How long will I likely be waiting for Gen7 to be released? Rough estimate...2-3 months, 4-6 months...?

Gen7, 8, 9 is in works now. Should have preliminary support in few weeks. We will be sharing the progress as it goes. Still few things needs to be worked on.

Hi Grom...Any news for us about pre-sale pricing? How about a video? Finalized spec? Why not using Android 8.0 instead of 7.1? Android auto will be working?

I think it's pretty clear they don't have a solid date yet - asking them to commit to one when they don't have it is just going to lead to disappointment for you - though in all fairness GROM needs to be better about providing dates - there are about a dozen time in this thread when dates were missed. In previous messages it's been made pretty clear Android Audio isn't coming due to google's lack of willingness to work with GROM.
