The presale price for VL2 would be $499, retail around $595. The spec is same as before: RK3288 MCU 2GB RAM, 16GB Flash, Wifi with 5G support and faster bluetooth. For now we stick with 5.1 and anticipate 7.1 released in April. Video is coming later after we publish Gen 7/8/9 video in few days. Some pics from antutu attached

What is the price for the module swap from VL1 to VL2?
Android 7.1, will this flow to VL1 also?

Thanks

Happy to hear you're using the more stable software from the vl1 to put the product in our hands sooner than you'll update to 7.1... Just more expensive than expected... Thank you for continuing getting us updated!

... Also... What About the audio? Any improvements such as Bluetooth HD or other? I know that RK3288 MCU can output up to 8 channels... For us that have the 19 speakers Mark Levison 7.1 audio systems would we be able to hear improved audio?

We only support stereo audio. If you need more channels, you need to feed them directly to preamp or DSP unit (if equipped)

So Grom, will you in fact give us early adopters the ability to exchange our VL1 for a VL2 for a reduced price? Since others have asked for a price and you have ignored it I'm guessing you haven't decided on a price or otherwise can't commit to a specific price yet... but if you can at least confirm that will be an option offered that would be great.

Thanks.

what do you mean? the grom works for all model IS-F's but it was just too buggy. sometimes backup camera works, sometimes it doesnt, sometimes it freezes, it was just dependable enough for me. w/ beatsonic & pioneer headunit everything just works...all the time. carplay...smooth as butter, im just happier period.

Explain what you mean by Carplay with the Beatsonic?
Is it actual Carplay that they shown off 2 years ago at CES? You can interact with it with the touchscreen navigation in the dashboard?

Pre-sale $499?? No thanks....
After reading through the last 55 pages of rants about the issues with the VL1 you would be crazy to spend that on a new revision of it with a spec bump.
I am so thankful I only spent $299 on the VL1 pre-sale, especially since I had to sent it back once and contact support over and over!

I highly recommend the Amazon unlimited music ap for the Vline. Alexa works perfectly and couldn't be happier. Having Waze, mixcloud and amazon music makes all the the little bugs worth it. The latest update has made the system much more stable.

We are running tests and all validations these days. Once everything is confirmed we will post official announcement along with prices. It will be Android 7.1 based.
