Does the VL2 that is currently for pre-order support 2011 LS 460 and if not can you give a general estimated timeframe of how long it will be until there is a version that will support that MY?

I assume that would entail reusing the VL1 case and some of the internals to do this VC2 module swap. That sounds fine with me if it equals a decent cost savings. Will you announce the price of that before the pre-sale ends on purchasing a complete VL2? If the savings is not significant, then I might opt for keeping the VL1 as a spare, or for potential resale.

It does not support yet, and we are looking into making it compatible with your vehicle, but not yet. Stay tuned for the updates, you can sign up at bit.ly/vline_interest

Thank you.

I'm considering this, but will it work on a 2006 RX400h?

2. Will apple carplay work on v2?

Carplay works on v1 and I can't see why it wouldn't be in v2 - they'd have mutiny on their hands if it didn't. It's not officially supported, but you can use it.

You wouldn't be able to listen to sirius through the car's satellite input while displaying video from the grom. The whole input shifts and your audio and video would have to come from the grom unit. You can listen to sirius using the app, though (carplay or the andoid app). You can listen to audio from carplay while viewing screens from the vline android interface (ie - listen to apple music/sirius through carplay while using waze on the vline stock launcher).

3. I'd also like to know, if the V2's improved WiFi and Bluetooth will allow Wireless CarPlay, and if that is planned. According to Apple it requires:
Protocols: (SDP, iAP2), 2.1+EDR, Bluetooth Extended Inquiry Response (EIR),
5GHz, 802.11ac WiFi, as well as location with GNSS receiver, speed sensor and dead reckoning.

I called them up and asked them the same question, because it appears the unit will have the necessary tech to do wireless carlplay. AND WIRELESS CARPLAY WOULD BE A GAME CHANGER. I would buy two units even though I only need one.

They won't talk about Carplay that much because it is still in beta and they haven't received approval from Apple. The guy reminded me if they fail they will have to remove carplay from units at some point. He didn't answer if wireless carplay would be possible, but commented that he had used wireless carplay on a real carplay unit and he found it to lag, so it wasn't something they were looking into. I personally think that that was complete bull****, but at least we know what direction they are pointing in. My bet is the dude is an android huger and didn't care. WE NEED WIRELESS CARPLAY. WE NEED IT.

It would suck if they don't try to enable it, the tech is there.

WIRELESS CARPLAY ON V2 WOULD BE INSAINE.

I wouldn't hold your breath for wireless carplay. Wired carplay doesn't work well with the VL1, it has random artifacts, etc. and they don't seem to be getting addressed.

any of you do your own installation?

Im assuming install the unit in the glove box, and run a usb wire to center console? RUN gps wire and mic wire to front? Any other wires to run?

Easy to do?
