The bluetooth in my 2006 Lexus IS with ML is being flaky and doesn't work with my Pixel 3 XL. Just wondering if there's a way to configure VL2 such that the mic and speakers can be used by my phone?

Hi Grom, I agree with havebaviaannl. I have been around android, Linux and sw development all working life. I think any commercial company should release a software change log with release notes. Many young companies need to mature their software development processes and I would imagine you are no exception. Where it comes to car audio solutions with android it seems many vendors struggle. I am.keen to give your product a go but am concerned it will be good one release, bad the next. Can you please describe to me and my fellow members the risks you face making changes for releases and how you have fared to-date?

Although I wasn't particularly fond of the native system due to massive instability, but attempted to be patient by using Carplay (which worked flawlessly).

Out of the blue, last night, I started getting lines on the screen and an endless bootloop with no touch response. I am not able to enter settings nor any other area of the OS, because the system has become fully unresponsive.

This is not even going on 5 months and it seems like my unit is taking a dump.

Again, no updates were performed (since about July).

Any ideas? Need this resolved immediately!

Sounds very much like an AlfaRomeo, sexy until it breaks down. Always breaks the heart.

Disconnected the battery, reconnected. Booted up properly, I then performed the latest update.

Hopefully this software update will prevent issues like this happening again down the line.

Thanks again,

Slavik

Your Android update to 8.1 was originally promised for end of September... Are we any closer?

Haha.

if there’s one thing this thread should teach you: Don’t ask Grom to comment on when things will be ready. They will provide you with a date they will never ever hit and you will be disappointed. When it comes, it comes. And more than likely when it comes, you shouldn’t use it. Unless, again, you want to be very disappointed.

Yes it is available for local customers only via manual upgrade. If you happen to be in the Bay Area, please stop by for an upgrade. The rest of the people will get it before Christmas.
