I'm not 100% sure which heat shield you're referring to, but no shields were removed for this exhaust to work. All true-dual exhausts are routed in an identical matter with no issue.
They are 2.5'' piping. As are all current offerings for the ISF at the moment. With 3" you might gain peak power, but with 2.5'' dyno charts have shown a linear increase across the power band. Planning to get the car dyno'd with this current exhaust in the next week or two.
If I had to give it a ball-park figure - it would probably be right around JoeZ - Hayward & Scott exhaust price range.
That sounds about right. My tuner said labor would be a flat $800. With the 90/45 degree elbows, v clamps/flanges, tubing, O2 bungs, and mufflers, parts can run about $900 depending on what material you get.
Great looking set up with beautiful welds and details... I might be interested in mufflers as well. My current borla set up is a bit too quiet for liking...
Have you heard anything by chance? I'm tempted to grab an X force to use the piping system and then throw these mufflers on.
I might just shoot them an email with your pic of the muffler if you don't mind. Essentially a thru bumper with JoeZ designed piping. The way it should have came :P
