ooof that was rough. I thought the decoder was for the sticker on the diff. Now i see even the URL had VIN in it. 🤫

I did a search for RC F VIN and looked at the images. Lots of A01A, and some A01B for these models. After poking around a little, there is a lot of conflicting information about decoding these codes. One thing is pretty consistent - the A at the end is an open diff. Odds are pretty good the B at the end is a Torsen diff, but it would need to be confirmed with an owner to be sure.

^^^^Are you sure I don't think any RCFs were shipped with an open diff. It would seem to me that the "A" is a Torsen and the "B" a TVD.

Technically, the TVD equipped RC F’s have open diffs. But I don’t know if Lexus would name it way. I’ll check what mine says when I get home today.

Will the LC 500 differential fit the ISF?

Any words of wisdom for lubricating the axle seals before putting the axles in? Any lubricants to avoid? Trying to avoid any hard lessons (like using the wrong lube deteriorates the axle seal).

The ones that were on the donor diff looked like it had dielectric grease on it.

I use Red Line Assembly lube for anything like this. It dissolves quickly once oil hits it and works very well on seals. It's even better in rod and main bearings.

Another RCF transplant complete. This thing rips now!

btw i'd had my air hammer sitting in my tool chest as part of an air kit that came in with my air compressor...20 yrs ago. I never realized how sweet this thing is (for bushings).

Has anyone looked into swapping the 2020+ RCF Diff with the revised final drive?

That would be interesting to know?!👆

What is the final revised drive ratio of the 2020+ RCF's?

3.13. I bought a used open diff off of a 2015 rc350, same gear ratio, had the ring and pinion Cryoheat treated and built one with new housing and OS giken LSD. Car scoots more aggressively and rpm at highway cruising isn’t too much higher.

I thought about doing exactly this, sans the cryo treatment, but with 3.266 (GS450h) or 3.615 (GS350) and oem ISF housing + OSG LSD. 3.13 is surely an upgrade, and I think 3.615 might affect drivability of the car poorly. Probably aiming for 3.266.

I have initially wanted the 3.2 and decided to try the 3.13 first to see how I like it. I think I will stay with it for a while. The acceleration improvement is there, but obviously the 3.2 would be even better. But, I still do quite a bit of freeway driving and I think 2K rpm at 70 mph in 8th gear is perfect, for me at least.

2k is great. 3.266 should increase that by 5%, so 2100rpm seems fine too. Way better than my 5speed evo...4k rpm at 80mph, stock gearing, and I highway that car more than the Lexus.
