I could not find anything since that diff is fairly old but I believe it is metal, though I could be wrong.

I broke in my OS Giken with Lucas diff oil. Drove from Cedar Rapids to Atlanta and has no chatter, but switched to OS Giken's oil when I got to Atlanta. I've never had any chatter at any time and if you look at my posts, you'll see I am a huge fan of the OS Giken spool.
