Look in my thread about the IS-F 2010 diff replacement.

Basically lift the car up, use a trans jack to support the diff, pop out the axles and then lower the diff down and slide out the axles slowly to not damage the seals.

You do not need to remove the axles, suspension, tires....

Taking the oem bushing is the hard part. Coz i just using jack stands. I used elect cutter to cut the edges. and chisel to take it out.

The bushings on the ears are really tough. I used an air chisel. Well, actually, my brother did this for me while I was working on the front of the car because I was under a time crunch. We drove from ATL to my dad's house in Cedar Rapids on Friday night, I worked on the car on Saturday, then drove home to Atlanta on Sunday. So, it was he who got them out and it wasn't a simple thing. The big ones aren't easy either, but they're a lot easier than the ones on the ears.

Looks good! So the million dollar question... was the swap and bushing upgrade worth the effort? I will be doing mine in 2 weeks.

Its absolutely worth the effort. I have an 08 ISF but I installed a 14 diff and figs bushings on both the diff and rear subframe like in the pics and all I can say is wow what a night and day difference. I also went with the figs rear arms with spherical bearings and have no wheel hop at all anymore. The rear feels so solid and with the bushings the response just feels more in sync.

I haven't done the rest of the rear suspension yet, but wheel hop went away with just the bushing swap and the OS Giken LSD.

I started the project today, exhaust out and removing rear carrier. Need any suggestions on how to get axles out of the carrier, since most of you have left the axles in place. Thanks for your help.

It's finished!!!!! After a solid 8 hour battle, I now have upgraded the front LCA bushings, rear carrier to a 2015 RCF LSD (did not have to swap diff covers, the 2015 worked perfect since I changed to Figs), rear Fig bushings, and Borla exhaust. Love love love the setup. Thanks everyone for posting the ideas and positive feedback of the mods to get me motivated to tackle this project. It was well worth it. Thanks a million.

I may have missed this, so I just want to clarify... an RCF diff fit into the ISF with no needed mods. It’s a direct swap? Does anyone know the RCF gear ratio?

Yes. Just finished putting a 2015 RC F LSD (non-TVD) rear differential into my 2008 IS F today. Everything lines/bolts right up.

I also updated my power steering ECU to the 042 revision, swapped out the 08 suspension (springs/shocks/bump stops) to the 14 parts, and changed over to the Joe-Z quad muffler tips. Since I had the trunk interior out, I also taped up the interior trunk/air vents. For those of you with the Mark Levinson system, I recommend doing this if your vent flaps are gone...since one of the vents sit right next to ML amplifier and the amplifier has two fans...whether they are intake or exhaust fans I am unsure.

Instructions for the rear differential:
1. Remove exhaust
2. Remove mid-pipe
3. Remove rear sway bar
4. Detach driveshaft
5. Pop out axles
6. Drop IS F differential out
7. OPTIONAL - Put in FIGS bushings on differential and rear subframe (Highly Recommended. This will be one of the hardest and time consuming parts of the job if you don’t have an air hammer)
8. Install LSD RC F differential
9. Pop axles back in, making sure not to damage axle seals, and install driveshaft
10. Fill with GL-5 gear oil
11. Reinstall sway bar
12. Reinstall exhaust
13. Test drive

For those of you that have done this on jack stands and on your back in your driveway...wow...

I don’t how you guys do it...but much respect.
