Yes it will bolt right up without any mods only if you change the stock differential bushings with the Figs solution. If not, you will need to swap the differential covers. The rear mounting bolts on the RCF are vertical and the ISF are horizontal.

I just bought a 2015 RC-F 2GJ differential. Going to attempt to install it, but can someone please confirm whether or not this is a normal noise for an uninstalled differential to make?

Also, I think that's a visual confirmation that it's a torsen, but here's a picture of the inside.

Subscribed, I am about to take the plunge as well thanks to great advice from Joe Z. My diff is coming in on Monday, curious to find out more about the sound you are hearing^

@Gohanburne If you have the 2GJ sticker it's correct... Did you take off the rear diff cover..??

With the diff laying flat.. If you spin the propellor and it makes that continuous popping clicking sound.. Something is not right at all..

@TCM55 All my current info and post details is in the below thread.. I didn't use this thread since it was a couple years old and quite..

Sound is normal, gears are dry and your'e hearing the gear lash when turning the pinion back and forth. Like Joe Z said, there shouldn't be any noise when turning in one direction.

Ok then it should be good. Doesn't make noise while turning, only when changing direction and there is no fluid in there or anything right now.

Edit: Do you suspect that adding this LSD will increase the value of my 2008? I'm having it installed at a Lexus dealership so it'll show up on service history.

Just a note to say thanks to all on this thread, I really would not have been about to do this without the info here. I put an RC350 AWD (3.769) differential into my Euro GS450h (3.266). I dropped the whole subframe to check all the bushings. It's fairly easy to install the new RC350 carrier bushings once the subframe is out of the car. Haven't driven her yet but will try to put everything together by tomorrow. Interestingly my GS450h came with a finned differential housing, whereas the RC350 AWD was black and fin-less, think I'll keep it for a future LSD project.

Is the finned diff an open diff?

I'm quite sure it is an open differential.... pretty sure no 3GS ever came with an LSD, I never paid any attention to it, was quite surprised it was a finned housing

Will take more pics in the morning.

I read in an article once that later model 350gs could be ordered with a torsen, but I called around to some dealers asking if they had any available to buy with a torsen, and they thought I was crazy. Long in the short, i could not figure out how to identify a torsen equipped gs350.

It's on the build sticker behind the driver's side door. Can't miss it if you know what the codes mean.

Is there any way to tell on the diff? I’m no longer considering a larger daily, but could think of a couple different uses for one of these diffs.

If you could see through the halfshaft holes, it’s an open diff. Maybe ask a picture of that from the vendor if not buying one in person. Or the old trick, turn the companion flange, left and right should turn the same direction if it’s LSD. Open diff will turn opposite of each other.

So if you can see clear through it like this, it’s an open diff?
