Track team assemble!

I just recently bought a 2011 and it came with some aftermarket stuff, some good and some not so good for track use. It currently sits on 20 inch Vossen CV2 wrapped in Nitto nt555 tires (275/30/20 and 235/35/20). The rear wheels are 20x10 offset 45, I don't know about the fronts because I haven't taken them off to inspect, but I would guess they are 20x9. So, my thought is that these wheels are likely much heavier than either the factory wheels or more track oriented brands.Can't find the specs on Vossen's website.

I need y'alls help to suggest some brands that are lightweight with a lower price tag, say $1500 for a set of wheels, in a 19 inch size. Right now, the best I've been able to locate is Forgestar with sets on Ebay in the $1200-$1500 range. Of the Forgestar brand, my style is the CF10, CF5V, or F14.

Option B is using the factory wheels with Yokohama AD08r in 275/30/19 and 245/35/19.

 

Can't go wrong with OEM wheels. They're forged BBS

 

The OEM BBS are pretty durable and somewhat light. Track use with these won't be an issue at all, and will most likely be lighter in terms of rotational mass compared to the 20" Vossens currently on the car.

If you're looking at aftermarket wheels to use for the track, some options that may fit your budget include:
-Enkei RSM9, GTC01
-SSR GTX01

I'd also advise to broaden the search for wheels that are 18". There is a greater selection of wheels that will fit your budget and it'll be less costly when looking at tire sizes as well. Best of luck!

 

Another one to check out is the TSW Nurburgring.. Seems like a decent quality, fairly lightweight wheel for under $300 ea. RR Racing runs them on their shop car.

Thanks for the suggestions! I like the SSR GTX01 of the ones suggested so far. I also like the Nurburgring but I don't see a concave version.

Still leaning towards the Forgestar. Any other suggestions?

 

Why do you want 19" for a track day setup? There are a several of us here who run 18x9.5 Enkei PF01s on all 4 corners and it works great...light weight and relatively inexpensive. Do a search and you will find multiple threads discussing track setups.

 

I suggest 18x9.5 +40 Enkei NT03 if you're not looking to break the bank, although if you're lowered I think it might require light fender mods.
My 18x9.5 +40 Volk te37 (with 265/35 michelin pss tires) have no issues on stock height, so I'd imagine the NT03 should be fine too.

 

I use the OEM..done...

 

I'm still swaying between OEM and Forgestar....any other ideas?

Really appreciate the suggestions. There are so many choices. I'm not opposed to 18" but I prefer the look of 19". This is mainly a daily driver with maybe 6 track days a year. I wish the OEM offset in the rear wasn't so tucked in.

 

I'd go for a quality wheel for starters something that definitely is a lot lighter than stock.

Advan,Volk Enkei is where I'd start.Normally wheels like this you have no issues with calliper clearance and are very light sometimes upto 5-10 kg lighter a corner.Yes thats 20-40 kg less rolling weight you have to stop and accelerate.

I'd also go with a square setup 9.5' +40 offset wheel 18-19'.I'm assuming if you went with the above option 18' would be cheaper.

Tyres again options are a plenty but i reckon you'll go along way performance wise with a good quality light racing wheel.Ys they cost more but you get what you pay for and in the most cases with the mentioned options they look great aswell.

 

I like the Enkei GTC01RR, new for this year and special order. Lead time and priced about $550ea. is too much

 

You might like this! Advan racing TC3. They are 18/10. For me its a balance of look and performance.
