Im gonna be "that guy".. Im an electrician/ Electrical Engineer..

You got the wrong wire man.. you need 10-3 Romex for a 240v circuit, assuming you you are only going up to a 30A circuit breaker (looks like a 30 in the pic).
10-2 is only good for 120v. Unless you plan to use the white wire as your L2 and use the ground as your neutral.. (wouldn't recommend that)

Post pics once its done! Been thinking about putting in a AC/ Heater in my garage too

Yeah, it's a 30A breaker.. I read the heater draws a little over 20 amps on the highest setting. I did use the white wire as my second hot lead, since there's no call for a neutral with this set-up (two hots & ground only). Was your recommendation to not do that based on safety concerns? If so, I did apply black heat shrink to the white wire so that nobody else would mistakenly think it's a neutral. Also, my neighbor is a journeyman electrician, so I usually have him sanity check my DIY work to make sure I'm not doing anything incorrect or dangerous.

So far, I like it.. It makes pretty good heat for its size. However, it's obviously going to be less effective in a non insulated space, so now my next project is to close in the rafters and add insulation. My first step was to add a folding attic ladder since I want to maintain easy access for storage.

The attic ladder is an excellent idea. Every time I need to get to the loft I have to use a regular ladder.
