Default Stock exhaust VS Joe Z PTS exhaust

So I purchase my 2011 IS F like 3 weeks ago. I love it, price and mileage were good. I'm a stock type of guy, and mine came with a Joe Z PTS, it has a very aggressive growl to it. What do you guys recommend I do, should I keep it or look for someone who would want to trade their stock for mine?

I just put a xforce on mine and yes it changed the character of the car, no more stealth mode, and not much power difference but it sound good, you wont have any problems swapping for a standard plus $$$ your way cheers.

I was in the exact same boat and kept the Joe Z and am so glad I did! If you get rid of it you are going to make your car slower and for me that was a deal breaker. Joe Z is an awesome exhaust with the exception of the drone you get at highway speeds, windows up. I don't notice it on my own, but when I have the wife and kids in the car, psychologically it sounds louder because my wife asked about the sound in the past. And, when you look at the quality of the Joe Z vs stock it's almost impossible to justify removing it.

I'm sure you'll find people willing to trade no problem - hopefully you find local because I imagine shipping will be a real pain.

No way I'd give up my Joe Z exhaust for stock unless someone offered .e a price I couldn't refuse. If you want stealth mode, keep the sport button off and the car/exhaust sounds factory.
As mentioned above, you'll lose hp/speed (especially highway speeds and pulls) and you'll find yourself regretting the change. Stock exhaust system is VERY restrictive. Guess they had to do something to tame the 5.0 beast from the factory, lol.
IMHO, keep your JoeZ, stock kind of guy or not!!

it doesn not affect sound. It changes the shift points and torque converter lock up

I don't know if the main choke point on the stock exhaust is the mufflers or certain sections of the exhaust, or could be in the stock manifolds and the primary cats which are the most restrictive? Joe-Z/ Borla etc....... will outflow the stock exhaust

Welcome to the forum. And, congratulations on your new F. 2011 is a great year to have.

It shouldn't be too difficult to find someone who'd be glad to swap, esp. in Cali.

The quieter exhaust makes the intake noise more audible.

This is very true also....intake will be MUCH more audible with factory exhaust.
But my joeZ I'd definitely quieter with sport mode off, b/c as mentioned above, it shifts very fast (lower rpms) and the exhaust, to me, doesn't really growl and open up til the mid from level, which I never get to with sport mode off.
