Default Complete Tom's Racing Carbon Fiber Aero kit installed on an MRM ISF

Pretty excited to say I FINALLY got my Tom's Racing aero kit installed on the car . I purchased the kit on 7/5 and after waiting through production delays I finally got my kit ! I installed the rear diffuser with my good friend RedlineAZ. After seeing how much drilling needed to be done for the rear canards , side pieces and front lip , I decided to have

a body shop do the rest. The shop charged me $650 to install everything ( wanted to include that since not one person I asked could give me a straight answer )and did it all in less than 24 hours. The manager told
me they had 4 techs working on the car. I told them that the car does extensive track time so to make sure that everything was REALLY tacked down and bolted tight.

overall I am pretty happy with the way everything came out. There were no fitment issues on the lip, or diffuser but the side pieces were a little longer than the side rocker. The shop split the difference. The rear canards are from an eBay vendor and lines up perfectly with the diffuser BUT the weave had a defect on one piece . I feel like the kit makes the car look more aggressive, lower, more modern, and even a little more special. I know the replica parts are half the price but when you look at the weave it's clear where the extra money went

It is definitely a nice aesthetic mod, one that is highly regarded in the IS F family. That rear diffuser will always have a nice OEM-ish finish to it, almost as if it could have arrived from the factory that way. And way to represent the MRMs, Tammer! Very few of them on the forums, and this is truly one of a kind for sure.

Wow... $650 for install?? Hate to say it, but it seems like you were taken advantage of here. If they had 4 techs working on the job, they were probably done in 30 minutes.

I installed the kit myself and had about 1.5-2 hours of total labor into it working alone. It is really a straightforward job, and especially simple if you have a lift to work on.

Carbon fiber accents look great on MRM.

I agree. That's crack pricing for $650 for basic bolt exterior pieces. That's like a 2/10 difficulty job

I had always been curious on how that kit looks on a MRM ISF. Looks pretty darn good.

Looks great! Those rear canards were a nice touch, they flow really well with the rest of the kit.

I must say, it looks damn good!!!
BUT, $650 was a rip off :-(. For $650 I would have been done in less than an hr. Line it up, bolt it up. I did my front lip in 15 mins. And imo, you already did the most difficult piece, the rear diffuser.
But sometimes the cost doesn't matter for piece of mind and for it to be out of your hands.
Side skirts and rear diffuser is def on my list in 2017 for the F!

For $650 there is great peace of mind. If anything goes wrong, guess who won't be fixing it? Tammer. Yes, indeed, I understand why some people think it's a lot of money, but when your time bills at $400 an hour, it's really truly cheaper to pay someone to do it and have a warranty for the workmanship. I also fully understand DIY, because it has been my model for as long as I can remember.

JMHO...
