Should I get the IS F
#16
Add another one to that list!!! No disappointments whatsoever!
I'll admit, the is350 made my is300 feel a bit slow.....It's a very quick car 0-80-90ish. The ISF pulls the hardest in triple digits, trust me. IMO, it pulls harder 90-150 than 0-60, lol. I've seen 170+ in it as well and it feels like you're going 60-70 mph in other cars...Smooth as the other side of the pillow!
I also pulled 1 to 1.5 car lengths twice on a c5 Corvette that had I/h/exhaust! I'm a stock ISF with Joe z exhaust. Both pulls were 60-130ish. The 2 guys in the Corvette were supppperrrrr surprised and gave the thumbs up. Didn't know what hit em!!
Go for the ISF....Will put you in another league and get you away from the 'dime-a-dozen' Corvette's on the road.

I own a isf and a c5 z06 two different cars the z06 is a sports car and the isf is a sports luxury everything feels different ... even the way it puts down the power... I've taken both cars to 175 mph the z06 stopped pulling at 150 the isf pulled all the way to 175 and was way more stable up there ...get the isf you won't regret it it's an all around better car ...the c5 is only good to show off how tail happy it is and for older guys to give you compliments and tell you how that was the car they always wanted

Test drive one. Get 2011 and above due to LSD and suspension.
I will tell you if your looking for something to throw you back in the seat this will not be it. The 8 speed transmiision is so smooth, but when you look down you will be doing over 100 in no time.
Great luxury with great power. I/H/E/T will get you to high 11's

Pole Position
There is no difference between the 2010-2014 LSD equipped ISF (Torsen). I think what he meant was the bushing and suspension changes that Lexus did on the 2011+ models that made the ride more compliant and better handling (lopped like 8 sec of the VIR lap time between a 2008 and a 2011 to 3:05.8 IIRC).

The ISF is the car for you, you won't be dissapointed, it can't be compared with the IS350 in my opinion it's a different car, the breaks, suspension, trans, differencial, seats, wheels, motor, ...

Any own or drive the E92 M3 and the ISF? How do these compare
Motor trend and other car reviews say the M3 is much better performer but I dont want to deal with the BMW problems and rod bearing issues

Hi Toyotabike
I have driven both cars. My best friend is driving M3. Version 2013 (Edit, the last V8, E90, E93, E92)
My decision was the F. The Performance is pretty close, the m3 is a little bit sharper

in the steering.
Buy the USRS Bushings from RR Racing and you have the same steering feeling, maybe better.
I love the way of the F Engine and the Transmission .More Torque and reliability ^^
The M3 needs always high engine speed. The engine is like a race engine it makes a lot if fun, but i missed the torque.
On the Autobahn it is a lot of fun to see how easy the F go to the Top Speed. On the country road you have the perfect power balance between torque and horses.
In the first tests in germany in the year 2008 when the F cames out, they missed the LSD. So the first F needs for the track 0.02 minutes longer than the M3. Not a big deal.
If i had the money i would buy both cars. ^^
So i bought the F and it was the right way.
In Germany the F is pretty rarely. Only 220 Units in the whole land.

I havent driven the M3 since I've put the USRS and new 245/275 PSS tires on. I can say those mods transform the car, I'm willing to bet it isn't much difference in driving dynamics anymore. Like he said the M3 does feel a bit racier and its a fantastic car, but its not good enough to be constantly worrying about throwing a rod every time you drive it.

I ended up with M235i w/ M-PERFORMANCE LSD. It's a newer generation car then e92 M3 and has similar performance. Very tunable, more reliable, zero maintenance (for it's warranty period), etc. It was more cost-effective then ISF

I absolutely love my ISF. My only concern for you is "seats ateast 4". I'm 6'2" and my wife is 5'10". Nobody is sitting behind us and when we've had to it's been uncomfortable.
