One topic where the Q50 has a likely upper hand; interior volume. This only becomes a factor sometimes when i'm transporting two or more other people in my IS-F and i wish they had a bit more leg room... but that is not often.
I'll admit the Q50 has a beautiful aesthetic. Another factor if you're planning to keep it very long term as others have mentioned in these forums, is reliability. i'm not saying it because this is a Lexus forum, you can look it up in any of the quality survey reports/organizations. Nissan/Infiniti has always been a bit further down the scale on quality/reliability, whereas Toyota/Lexus seems to always be at or near the top.
However if you find a Q50S you love, you should get it. I also agree with another member here; yes the F is rare, but if you really want a certain year they can be found. spending more weeks or even months to find the right car can really pay off... good luck!

It looks like pretty nice ride for the street, but it's not even in the same league as the IS-F when it comes to overall performance.

^^^I say in time tuners will get more power out of it and it will be a more powerful street car than IS-F if that's what the owner is after. I think 500whp in the Q50 would be a fun streetable car I'm sure people will go higher and learn the limits of block, trans etc...Nissan ECU's are very easy to work with once figured out even with direct injection. Tuners always find a way. TT V6 seems to be the future across most brands for power and mpg.

Yeah, you're right.. If it's just HP & straight line speed one is after, then it will probably be the preferred car.. However, the open diff, steer-by-wire, and the traction/stability control behavior mentioned in the video indicates it won't touch the IS-F on the track, which (IMO) is where it really counts.

^^^ I'll venture out on a limb and say the majority of IS-F encounters with other cars will happen on the street. When I think of a track car for HPDE I don't think of the IS-F or the Q50, a P car comes to mind or other sports cars, that's just me.
