I realize you don't have to paint it, however, without painting it almost defeats the point of the diffuser, even for pure aesthetics, as you barely even know it is there. That and the fact that the S4 has very poor installation hardware that does not appear very secure and for me that's why I ended up returning mine.

here's mine, it was never meant for performance but rather just aesthetics appeal. Looks very nice and subtle. IF you want "In your face" this is not it, as with many cosmetic mods we do to our cars, different strokes for different folks.
Just helped me buddy put on his JoeZ and diffuser/flippers up front - the JoeZ sounds SO NICE ~ makes me want to buy another IS-F!

I think the most important aspect is not the fins at all. This one looks functional. It's the angle of the rear bottom of the car. When the air goes from a smaller space gradually to a larger before exiting the rear, it pulls the butt towards the ground. That's why the toms are for show only. They do nothing for downforce. And don't get me started on roof spoilers. They hurt rear downforce.
