E85 shouldn’t give much problems on a car that’s so well engineered. The aftermarket has been using e85 around 10 years. I know I have. I actually used e85 on my old ISF safe cell nitrous kit. I’m pretty sure if a tuner builds an e85 map, that he will interface an ethanol sensor like the rest of the aftermarket to which you will be able to blend pump and ethanol for easy switching. It’s been found that e85 can be corrosive to pre and post filters. Fuel pumps not designed for E85 can fail prematurely since ethanol strips lubrication and attracts moisture. Being able to do a couple tanks of ethanol then gas is helpful because pump gas has a lot of lubrication and detergents. Excessive oil blow by and E85 don’t mix as well. A gum substance will form in the intake runners/valves. E85 det resistance, substantially improves TQ more over HP. So here’s hoping the rods can handle it. Willing to bet e85 TQ gain will be higher in the low rpm than the blower on pump gas.

The GT350 intake swap can be done for around $1000-1500 where as a GT350 (which is also a low production car) can cost $20k-$30k more then a GT.
Yup, its a completely different car.

I have learned to just buy the fast model from the factory and improve on that.

That right there is a pretty good endorsement for the IS-F, which is now a 9 year old platform Did you have the GT or GT350? I'd be interested in a contrast & comparison of the two to hear what you like/dislike about each.

This same Mustang ran a very impressive time at the drag strip.

I'm looking to run a FBO Mustang S550 (minus E85 and couple minor mods - dynoed at 425WHP) soon. I have a RCF with catback exhaust. Should be a good run.

Just an FYI, a close friend of mine here has a Coyote with just a bolt on supercharger/tune and is running consistent mid 9s in the 1/4th. Those cars are stupid easy to make fast.

ive been noticing that more and more lately, they seem to just feed on mods. I wish the F made that kind of power on simple bolt ons like that. that's definitely a car I would consider in the future if high power v8 stays in my system

Last I head was the initial tune didn't make any more power over the standard FBO tune and that Rafi & Steve were going to tweak it further to see if they can coax some gains out of 100% E85?

That's freakin crazy, good on ford for finally putting out some decent products. American cars were in such a slump for decades. Even still I think Ford is the only one making competitive products. Don't give two ****s about a Chrysler, dodge, Chevy garbage outside the Vette.

Only issue with the mustang is you will see three dozen of them a day. That would bother the hell out of me having the same damn thing as everyone.

Totally agree with you. I actually like the newest gt500 and was about to pull the trigger on one to figure out that 2 of my next door neighbors own a gt500. So far, I am the only ISF in my neighborhood and I love the exclusivity.
