I shot the above commercial at Barber Motorsports Park in 2015 and although I wouldn't make the purchase, the new Camaro SS is indeed an awesome car. It's lighter than the previous generation by about 200lbs, the body is more rigid, cornering feels much more refined, and the throttle response is instantaneous. You're asking an ISF forum to compare the two so its obvious you're going to get a biased response. But from my experience, it's definitely the best camaro brought into production to date. The interior is not as cheap as you think. It's not the Lexus standard's finish but I was blown away with the detail. Tech features are plentiful too.
Even more interesting about the new generation of Camaros is that the V6 version pulled a faster lap time at VIR than the 2011 IS-F, GS-F, and RC-F at their annual Lightning Lap competition!

As others have stated, the Camaro SS is a fantastic bang-for-your-buck performance car but it lacks the rarity and potential resale value that the more exclusive IS-F carries. We're also seeing a new twilight of potential with this platform now that the ECU is finally tunable and vendors are providing amazing upgrades like forced induction. Combine that with Toyota/Lexus durability and you have a car worth owning for the long run (which probably can't be said about the 6th gen Camaro SS).

Late to the party...So you make $1500-$2000 every year on a car flip. What ROI of 5-6%? On a risky German car that can burn your entire wallet at any time?

Hardly worth the risk and potential headaches involved.

Dammit I ****ed up on buying my first car new in 2015. I was busy making car payments while ISFs were 35-36k back in 2017 . Held value pretty good I must say.
