To me the is f has its similarities to the NSX in desirability within the production years

08-09 are like the 91-92 NSX which were the most common and highest production numbers. These cars are normally entry level cars that change hands quite a bit and everyone of these owners mod the crap out of them and then buy a newer year or different car all together.

2010 is like the 95-96 NSX, some improvements, targa was introduced but nothing like the 97 and up. This was the year that saw the isf come out with a Torsen lsd.

2011 is like the 97-2001 NSX, the most amount of improvents from the first production years. Larger motor, different steering rack and transmission. These are a lot more desirable than the 91-96 years. This was the year that the isf had the updated headlights, new gauges, lsd, new suspension, steering ecu updated.

2012-2014 are like the 2002-2005 the no major improvements but a lot of refinements and low production numbers. And flush headlights.

This is why most modded NSX are 91-94 going wide body, rims, superchargers, turbos, and body kits. The 97-2001 guys try to stay stock with minor improvements like volks rims, exhaust and 02 valence, side skirts, and type r parts. The 2002-2005 guys normally keep their cars stock except for minor boltons here and there but many stock.

So so it all depends on what you want to do with your car. I knew if I bought an 08 I would've modded it all out with Penske suspension, full toms lip kit and boltons but I picked up a 2012 and all I want to do is keep it stock with just a good sounding exhaust.

This is opinion from new F owner, I just got an 08 and to be honest the car is damn good. If you have big budget then 11+ of course. However, if you just want to buy the F for daily driving and modify it, then 08 should be fine. Someone people say that LSD only different on the track.
Did you test drive the F yet? Compare between 08 and 11, then go from there.

Yeah I finally test drove one on Sunday, 2010 with 63k on it. Ride quality and comfort was superb. Wasn't able to take it on the highway to really open it up so I wasn't really sold on it. It did help that 2URGSE was there giving me pointers and tips on what to look for.

If you plan to mod, all of that gets thrown out the window and it comes down the aesthetics at that point. I personally don't like the newer cluster, seats, colorful steering wheel, sunroof switches or the crappy torsen LSD. About the only thing I would take are the LED headlights and steering ECU. My car is pretty much an OS Giken diff away from making the 10+ a far lesser car IMHO....aside from the headlights and steering ECU which are easy swaps, then again I like thue AFS as well.
You're welcome to check out my car if you want. I'm planning to part with it this year and I'm in Burlington MA.
would today work for you?
