Damn.. Sorry to see that happen.. I had a close call this morning.. Drivers in this area are going crazy. I feel safer driving my car 150mph on the track than 60mph on my commute to work!

If the passenger door is out of alignment you may have a bent chassis. I hope you take it to the best panel shop you can find sorry for your bad luck but no one was hurt I hope.

Sorry to see this! Glad to see you're fine however. Price will quickly rise if they are using OEM parts as well. Make sure to pick and great body shop and don't let them jack you around, best of luck!

Never a good way to start the week. Thank goodness you're alright though. That's the most important thing. As others have said, demand it be replaced with OEM parts and not OEM-like quality. It does make a significant difference, especially if you're not the one at fault.

Stay safe and try not to hate your loaner too much

Funny, since my loaner is exactly the same model and color of the car that caused the accident. I DESPISE THIS CAR SO MUCH.

I brought it to a trusted shop and they always use OEM unless customer demands cheaper alternative. In this case, I'm getting all OEM since it seems to be mostly superficial so far: bumper, fender, headlight, fog light, etc.

Question: I was told that insurance company won't even bother to replace my tire even though it got flat from the accident...wtf? Is this for real???? THEN WHY AM I PAYING THESE ****** DEDUCTIBLE FOR (aside from lower premium)??

EDIT question 2: the tow yard lost my key (they insisted it's in the car), what can I do? Already called and they swore that they key was in the car, so now I lost my F-badged key fob, which is 118+ for the unit and maybe another 100 for programming...on top of that, if they did steal it, they might be able to come back to my house and jack the car since my address is on their file.

The insurance company should also be replacing the tire as well. Did the wheel get damaged as well? I'd fight that as well because that's bull.

Wheel looks pretty scuffed up and maybe bent if the tire got flat, but yes I am definitely going to fight for the goddamn tire replacement.

Funny thing is that I might end up with 3 Bridgestone S04 and one Michelin...

Why do you need to fight with insurance? I usually get everything done right and there is never an issue (knock on wood). Sometimes I even end up with some cash savings. Last time they paid me for 2 tires and 2 wheels so much, I ended up with 4 brand new tires, also paid me $500 for clear bra which cost me $200 to install.

My insurance company doesn't have the best reputation (Kemper), so I'm preparing for every scenario.

I see. I got Allstate now, seems decent so far. I had Safety before but for whatever reason rates kept going up every single year

I'm considering AAA and State Farm after this all shakes out.

Damn dude, that sucks. On a related note, that's really cheap for a key replacement. My Lexus dealer quoted me ~$700CAD to replace a key (buy FOB, blade, program FOB, cut blade), I wish I could get it done for your price!

Best of luck dealing with insurance. Don't back down, make sure you get a new tire, etc. That's why you're paying them.
