I would fly out of State, find a nice 2013 or 2014, put the $1,000 towards an enclosed trailer and bring the car home, but again, that's just me. I don't shop for a price, I shop for a car.

You get what you paid for.
Not sure what you mean, you can't bring a car over in a trailer without paying all import fees

So I've decided to pass on this one, primarily due to the claims. Also the hassle of buying a car internationally, not a deal breaker but it makes this purchase more difficult.

I understand this scenario but... the dealership selling is not a Lexus dealer, the PPI would be done by Lexus. Not guaranteed to be unbiased but no necessarily a complete sham.

I believe he meant another state in the US, not Canada.

The vandalism claim could also include personal items taken from the car. If the $33K was all damage, they likely would have salvaged it

It means it doesn't make sense to buy an ISF in Canada and pay more stupid fees to bring across the border.

It's a lot simpler to buy the car in the US and get a USDM car.

All depends on a price and USD/CAD $1k isnt that much if you can save $5k+ on a car

Hello all...long time lurker first time posting....I ended up buying the 2011 isf back in may..got a good deal on it and had a Lexus mechanic give it a thorough inspection..told them I was considering purchasing the isf but was hesitant because of the claims...the mechanics said the car had been serviced both times there for the claims...first was front bumper on the right side and the other was vandalism and theft...

Long story short.. bought the car no problems so far. Car had a k&n intake and Borla exhaust when I bought it..and the only thing the car needed was new tires

congrats on the purchase! it should be a good purchase at a great price for you. I passed on it since TAB couldn't give me any specifics on the claims and getting into the US was an extra hurdle. I ended up finding my USB 6 days after I decided to pass on this one.
