Coilover springs - do they need isolators to reduce noise?
I'm in the process of ordering coilovers with Swift springs and had heard rumors of springs needing/not needing rubber isolators on the spring rungs themselves to keep them quiet during operation. Quite frankly, there's so many rumors out there about spring noise it's impossible to sort the wheat from the chaff! In looking at the Penske's on RR Racing's site, it doesn't look like they have any isolators around the spring rungs.
I'm already dealing with noisy brake pads and can't spend the time running back and forth to the shop to figure out noisy coilovers, should that happen.
From my understanding, ensuring the pre-load is correct before installation is a key part of the install. Any other recommendations of what to look out for during coilover install?
Appreciate the guidance.
