Finally Installed OEM Rear Fog Lights

On my 2009 Land Cruiser, the rear fog lamps have the chrome plating on the reflector in place, but the hole for the bulb was blocked. It is quite possible that the IS-F shares this feature. The fog light socket and bulb are used in other USA Toyota applications, so they were easy to get. Tracing the hole and tab pattern for the socket was easy, and a small Dremel bit worked great to carve it out. The stops for the tabs are even cast inside the lamp for proper bulb positioning.

Well, turns out the rear fog light assemblies are no longer available from Japan, or anywhere. I asked them what happens if someone gets into an accident and smashes their rear tail lights, but no one had an answer. Strike 1.
The headlight stalk is still available and is actually the same stalk as a Land Cruiser so that would work. Unfortunately again the US spec gauge cluster doesn't have an icon on the overlay for rear fogs so it kind of defeats the purpose of dropping $100 on a switch that doesn't tell you it's on, or even if it will work in a US spec vehicle . Strike 2.
So I went with the most cost effective solution there was. I bought an OEM Toyota fog light switch, bored out the factory trunk light housings to accept a 7440 bulb and socket (same spec bulb for rear fog) ran a wire up front and that was it.
Here is the fog light switch: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Illuminated-Fog-Light-Switch-Genuine-OEM-LED-Light-Bar-00550-35976/263003283251?epid=654594334&hash=item3d3c379f33:g0sAAOSwlY1ZJvVS

They seem to be similar to http://jp-carparts.com/ and https://www.megazip.net/ both said they would be able to order the part. Once they looked into it my order was cancelled. Either way the housings are identical, as mentioned before the US spec housings just need to be drilled where the bulb goes.
