Default Headlight mystery

Hi guys.

My passenger lowbeam goes out periodically, but then comes back to life.
The bulb is fine; the ballast is fine.
The fun part: I just upgraded to my12 lights and lo and behold, passenger light goes out.
It comes right back on after I turn the headlight stalk from off to on.
Is this a wiring issue? When I installed the lights I didn't note anything unusual with the wiring in sight.

side note: does anyone else have an emotional lowbeam?

If the light comes on at first for a little while then goes out, but when you turn off and on again the light comes on, it is the bulb. I had this issue and so did quite a few members. I bought new bulbs and everything has been fine for many months now.

I suppose then that the passenger light is a mean coincidence--coincidences that have occurred ~five times.
Thanks for the tip.

Did you put the same bulbs from your original headlights into the new ones?

I switched to a new pair of garax bulbs a few years back and ever since then, same thing happens to me. I'll notice the passenger side go out, flip the switch off and back on and wallah. Don't know if its a poor or loose connection some where, but its done it over the past couple of years randomly

Weird I had the same issue on the drivers side with Garax bulbs last year....I changed the bulbs and the problem persisted. ...so I changed the ballast and the bulbs again a few weeks ago......everything is working perfectly again.

I switched to Osram Xenarc CBI and like them a lot better than the Garax

I guess bulbs are the consensus.
Just seems so coincidental to happen to the same exact positioned light.

I suggest swapping the bulb from the passenger side to the driver's side. If the issue follows the bulb, you'll know it's the bulb itself.

If it stays on the passenger side, you'll need to replace the OEM ballast.

Sounds more like a bulb-related issue though!
