I had been running the A/S 3+ Michelins for the last year and a half or so and for an all season tire they really gripped and handled great. Got around 15,000 miles on them before the rears were pretty much shot. Ended up buying a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s, couldn't resist the price on Tire Rack.

It was the great reviews on TireRack and the fact that they cost HALF of what the Michelins do that prompted me to give them a shot. I have already noticed a more compliant ride in the front without giving up a crisp turn-in feel. They are no different in noise. We'll see how they age. Hopefully, the 340 treadwear isn't too optimistic.

I'm loving the Firehawks even though it has only been a few days with them on the car. Seem to be really responsive and have excellent grip, which is what I would expect going from an A/S to a summer tire. Haven't driven them in wet conditions as of yet but all the reviews seem to say they perform really well. Time will tell on how they hold up, but you just can't beat the price for what you get. Even though it seemed like every review I read was positive, it took me several months to pull the trigger and stray away from Michelin. No regrets so far.
