Help! Windows won't go down - trunk won't open
I just had the 2008 in for the passenger side airbag recall. Upon getting the car back there are some problems. The passenger window and the 2 back windows won't open either from the passenger control or from the drivers control. The trunk won't open either from pushing the button on the front dashboard or from the little switch on the trunk near the license plate. Obviously I will be arguing that Lexus screwed it up during the service. What might have happened or is this probably something that just broke due to wear and tear and is just a coincidence that it happened just after the service?

The battery was disconnected and the windows need to be reinitialized. Go to the three windows and with the local control raise and lower each window. Once done, they all should work just fine from the driver's window control. As was said above, check the glove box control for the trunk. Nothing was left unplugged, just sloppy work.

You were correct about the window needing to be initialized. As for the trunk not opening, this is embarrassing. It was the valet switch I have never used this feature and only vaguely remember hearing about. it I guess its described in the manual somewhere. This must have been set during the service of the air bag.

The glove box comes out for the recall, so it's possible the tech hit the switch and didn't check it before returning the car. I would complain to no end about this kind of sloppy work. All too common from the current crop of techs out there.
