Default IS-F Reliable?

Selling my E46 M3, which has to be the most unreliable car ever made, how is the Lexus IS-F as far as requiring constant attention/money? The M3 was costing about 4-5k in parts every year, its great when it runs right but it cost a fortune to keep it going.

I must have a performance car to drive everyday so I am looking at Lexus and the IS-F is their horsepower car. What years are the best? Common problems? I drove a modified 2010 and it was fun.

Yes, very reliable. Do a quick search and you'll find tons of threads and info on just how reliable they are and what the few common problems are. Also plenty of info on the model year differences also once you search!
Let us know if you need further help!!

Hey Mike welcome to the club Lexus like stated above just do a quick search or better yet scroll down to bottom go to second page and look for the following post, it's a great post that talks about reliability of ISF vs E90 M3. It's extremely detailed it will give you all information you're looking for.
Has anyone thought of E9X M3 before getting the F? Or any previous owners of the M?

It's extremely unreliable in the sense that it never gets me over 21 MPG no matter how hard I try

Welcome. Yes, it's reliable as you'd expect a Lexus to be. Def. read about the slight differences in model years.
Earlier years had a few issues but those were corrected in 2010 and later.

I went from an E90 335i to a 2011 ISF. No comparison at all in reliability, ISF is SO much more reliable. Not even close.

Make that two. I came from an E92 335i. Was running into issues literally every 2 months with the 335i. Have owned my ISF for a little over a year now with FBO, and i can say i'm definitely at ease every time i punch it in comparison to my 335i.

Is there an aftermarket exhaust to eliminate the look of the retarted quad exhaust tips? Car looks great from every angle except for the 4 pipes stacked on top of each other.

If you want single tips then you have to go custom. Most kits either dont replace the factory tips or if they do they are still stacked duals.

Who buys a V8 for gas mileage, the ISF has to be one of the most efficient and reliable V8,s ever made.

Are you sure? Double check that just in case. You never know, like you never know how much time you'd need to pick for warming up a Hotpocket properly and thoroughly without either being too cold or hellish hot.

I don't even know how to respond to this. Gas milage vs. Reliability for a car compared to warming up a Hotpocket???

Coming from an E92 M3 to the ISF reliability isn't even a conversation. ISF dam near takes care of itself
