Default Looking at an ISF

Hey everyone! Thought I'd come here a poke around a bit on the ISF I just "discovered". I'm new to the world of foreign V8's..........been a Mopar guy for a very long time. I've been in the market to replace my totaled Charger, but unfortunately haven't found anything that really tickles me. Having said that, I've decided to expand my horizons (and budget) a bit and in doing so I've run across an 08 ISF with 89k for around 19.5k that I'm actually quite attracted toy. Obviously everyone here loves their ISF, but I'm concerned to spend so much for something with what's typically considered higher mileage for domestic vehicles. Thanks!!

At 89K, that IS F is just a teenager.. If it's been taken care of, you should be able to enjoy it for another 89K. Make sure you check to see which common issues (such as valley plate leak) may have already already been corrected. Good luck.

No car will be perfect, mechanically. But I will say this....I don't even think 89k on an IS F is a gamble; it is that well engineered and the reason why many chose it over say a German counterpart. Presuming everything checks out with your inspector, I don't see why this can't be in your driveway soon. Some have bought their F's with 100k, and they're running like new even to this day. It just depends on how it was maintained and which recalls have been performed. But do take a thorough look at it. Mileage is one thing, but there are certainly a few other things that are unknown to the eye that only a true car inspector can shed light on.

Best of luck, my friend!

Thanks! I'm calling the dealership that serviced the vehicle for the past 50k miles.......it's had a few owners, but the last one was for a decent chunk of time and carfax has quite a few recorded services at the Arlington Lexus dealership..

I really believe that is a total steal for an F with under 100k miles on it.....super cheap....so much so, that I say check the Carfax for accidents, etc and go physically look at the car to make sure everything checks out visually.
As mentioned above, 89k miles is barely breaking the car in, lol. There are guys on here with 300k miles on their F and still dailying the vehicle! No major repairs either, just the usual tires, brakes, oil, battery, sensors, etc that obviously would need to be changed/serviced over 300k miles.
Good luck!!

V.

I'm usually against buying the first ISF one sees, but there aren't many of them around. I would check the car very thoroughly.

Once you get into an ISF and start experiencing it, you'll forget the Dodge Charger.....

You'll be driving something that you won't see on every street corner or highway.

Good luck.

Unfortunately being that is in Schaumburg, Illinois it's too far to see it in person until I decide to purchase it. The sales person is supposed to be sending me a head to toe video and before anything is signed I'll have it checked over by the local Lexus dealer. I somewhat concerned this may have a cracked manifold.......but we'll see. As far buying the first ISF I see, it's the others are out of my price-range. The wife is already none to thrilled I'm looking at a 10 year old 20k car lol. She's found a 2013 300 SRT8 that I'll probably have to fight with her on haha.

I'd honestly get a southwest ticket and go out there and take a look. Might make a hell of a road trip. If you can afford the time to go look at it, then the plane ticket really is pocket change compared to what you're considering investing in.

We really need to start putting the VIN numbers in our posts about sketchy cars for sale. That way people can search for the VIN on this site and yield results. I went back and pasted this car's VIN in my post. Happy hunting Vahlen
