Just in case we over looked this, I'll repost the kick down switch. I haven't noticed any delay in downshifting if you depress the pedal fully; even if I'm cruising in 8th and need a quick highway pass.

Here's a photo and a link to the kick down thread.

I’m well aware of the kick down switch as Germans have been using this for years. I’m saying despite hitting the switch the my ISF has a lag. It’s something I don’t notice driving the newer Lexus models so perhaps something could be wrong with mine.

Sometimes the ISF gets it right the first time and other times it just gear hunts more than it should.
Yeah every car could just be different not necessarily something being wrong with yours. I think it comes down to the perception of what "fast" is to some honestly. Now if you are hitting the kick down button, and it is slow like being in regular drive and sport off okay something might be up. But typically in sport mode and mashing it mine will downshift fairly quickly and take off.

But in sport mode off, regular drive, yeah its not that fast. But I expect that in normal setting

Its not being reset. It does in some cases change the learned curve. Its been fixing TBW vehicles for years and is easier than a battery discount and resetting all windows, audio....
Plenty of Yoda's snap back to life after doing this simple pedal press.

The 350 has 50,xxx plus mile since last ECM reset and no lag so I haven't had a need to do it. If it did lag I would try it.
I think it mainly helps those who never apply WOT in all gears.

Try it. Worst case is a loss of 30 seconds of your life.

That will never help me. After you've ridden a 9 second bike, all cars feel pretty slow.

Small update to this thread. I did some datalogging this evening in the GS F and looked at throttle position vs. accelerator position vs. kickdown switch status. It's interesting the computer says there's no difference in throttle position if you hit the kickdown switch or not.

This is in Sport, not Sport+, with TVD in slalom. That's my standard configuration for driving the GS F. I really hate normal mode for everything.

Might be interesting to replicate this after the pedal dance. Also might be interesting to do the same with the IS F - mine still doesn't have the brake and throttle interlock software, so it's on the original engine management from '08.
