Monoblock forgings aren't exactly cheap. By basically using a 3 piece inner barrel which doesn't cost much to produce (especially overseas) with something half the width of a traditional monoblock forging; it becomes significantly cheaper to just weld the inner half to the outer half than actually do a proper mono block. Because of that weld these will never be as strong as a true mono BUT, because of where it's welded it's a something of a non issue since the center of the barrel doesn't see much stress. They're absolutely a great bang-for-the-buck wheel, I would just hate to see someone get them and think they're getting something comparable to an HRE / BBS etc mono, because they're not.

How do BC Forged wheels stack up quality wise? They are another “cheaper” forged option. I have a set of mono block eh172’s from them. Are they true monoblocks or welded?

BC’s wheels are top notch. If they say they’re monoblock they’re actually monoblock. I can’t comment on the quality of forgings that they use but, considering they’re used regularly on competitive cars it would seem they’re picky about their forgings.

Not to sound like an ***, but I’d really hope some dolt wouldn’t expect HRE quality on a full set of wheels for the cost of one HRE wheel lol.

Haha yup. The 6MT TL is a pretty nice little car. Loved the E46 but had my ISF and didn’t need two cars with our ****ty one car garage parking situation at the time.

I like it. Classy and aggressive at the same time. Your license plate is classic. What's the brand of
the license plate relocator? I will need to get one if I ever get popped by so cal police for not having a front plate.

That’s a Grimmspeed plate holder if I recall how to spell the name haha. Thanks! Feels great and no rubbing as of yet.

Love having lightweight wheels again. Changes the whole dynamic of the car. Thanks again! I love them.

Im going to see about a friend doing some professional level pics for me soon. I’m on nights another 4 weeks so probably after.

I couldn’t even weight them cause they wouldn’t register on the scale in my bathroom. Best I could do is weight them with the tires on compared to stock with tires I suppose.

Tire shop were pretty shocked how light they were when mounting the tires.

So would you say that they are MUCH lighter than stock? or just a little bit lighter? Sorry for the questions, I just really like the wheel...

Much lighter. I’d be surprised if they were over 20lbs by much if at all.

From when we weighed them, they came out to about 21 - 22 lbs.
