Is this documented somewhere? Expect a whine at cruise? I'm glad you have someone who gives a damn about doing it right. Sadly that does not apply to all installers hence the words 'most' and 'typical'.
And being the newb I'm essy to discredit; so be it. We may have to agree to disagree until facts are presented or I install mine and it whines... lol
What case did you use? A non LSD needing ground out? Not that this has anything to do w this, just curious.
Standard IS F case. I ground on it - I've ported a whole lot of heads so running a die grinder is easy. Tedious, but easy. It is possible to do this without grinding, but you'll need a stub axle to insert and hold the spool while you install and tighten the bolts on the ring gear.

OP - just don't go cheap on your materials as some poly simply deforms over time as it lacks elasticity. This can lead to the same type of noise/thud problem.
Giken's FAQ refers to their clutches, not their limited slip units. Install yours and you'll notice a very slight noise only on neutral throttle - is disappears under load in either direction instantly - this is after 1000 mile break-in using standard GL-5 oil and replacing with the OS Giken preferred oil for their Super Lock LSD. It truly transforms the '08 and '09 models.

If you go with poly bushings from Figs (Super Pro from Australia) you get a lifetime warranty. I've had them on my front LCA for more than 2 years and I can say they are silent except when the temperature drops below 40F and my summer tires have lost a lot of grip.
I know it's been about two years since you guys were dealing with this issue. How is it now? I was actually on the market to replace these bushings as well on my dif.
For those experiencing other slop be sure to inspect / change out the 2 primary engine mounts as well as the 3rd rear trans mount.. Everyone's driver side (LH side) is probably broken.
Hey Joe, you got any recommendations for the transmission mount? I've upgraded my engine mounts to the RR Racing ones and wasn't sure if I should stick to OEM or an aftermarket/stiffer one? I just don't want crazy amounts of NVH because I also plan on upgrading other bushings as well (if needed) like all the ones for the rear diff and some of the rear suspension components. I'm just afraid that if I buy some polyurethane ones for some bushings that I could potentially destroy an recently replaced bushing/mount that's equivalent to the OEM rubber.
