RR-Racing Engine Mounts
#31
- Replace engine mounts when installing headers: We have found that MOST higher mileage ISF's already have torn or deteriorated engine mounts. Not only does this lead to vibration or excess engine movement, but it can also cause headers to touch the chassis.
- Easy Installation: Installation requires removal of the subframe, and can be accomplished by a garage in about 1-1.5hrs. We strongly recommend installing these engine mounts when replacing headers, as the area will be easily accessible during header installation.

thanks Mike for the clarification. Most header clearance issues are caused by worn or busted engine mounts causing the header to hit the chassis or lower subframe. Our engine mounts will will limit engine movement and any clearance issues.

Yup this is my exact problem, headers are rubbing/hitting the chassis or sub frame. I placed my order last week on Friday. Look forward to finally not having any noise!

So I'm finishing up installing these motor mounts on my car. I can't give a honest feedback on how they compare to stock, as one of my mounts was completely destroyed and the other was just behind it. Installation was easy and straight forward. First time dropping the subframe and it took me just over a hour. Parts are machined very nicely, the instructions included had torque specs which always is a big plus in my opinion. You have to visually line them up, which isn't has scary as it seems as you still can rotate/clock the lower section with the upper section torqued. I would have liked to see keying pins to locate them, but this design mount makes it hard to integrate them.
My verdict is its a great part, my engine isn't knocking around as much as the failed mounts and it was a easy install. There is less noise and vibration, but again I had shot mounts so I can't say what new O.E. would feel like. I have to pull it all apart again once the headers come off back order but it was worth it to get the engine under control.
Adding to my previous comments, I just got back from a quick spirited drive, and wow, car feels great, the power feels quicker to come on. Its not having to waste energy to lift the engine before sending it out back. Some pops/clunks are all gone. Get you a set of these!

Actually just picked it up 24th at 182k down in Florida and drove back up to Georgia without any issue. So far the car has had a strong maintenance history. Will be doing a new dash board and recovering the door panels sometime. Bought the car the 24th and ordered all the go fast parts on the 28th. The car had its engine replaced at 30,000 miles under warranty. It looks as if the timing chains where replaced around 160,000 miles from what I could find. We'll see if it has any nasty surprises coming up for me, but based on how the dyno went this morning after installing the RR tuning package, I'm pretty sure she's happy and healthy.

Am pretty sure you will comb through every bolt and nut of that ISF to get it where it should be.
