Default Trying to price a 2012

This is not a For Sale post

My M2 finally arrived just because I wanted a 6-speed, not too crazy about running a turbo, but it reminded me so much the “feel” of the E46. I haven’t decided if I am keeping the 2012 IS-F but have been approached by few people I know. I try getting some indication on the pricing but not sure how reliable those are. In any case, please don’t judge for going back to BMW.

Here I am wanting to get some consensus of what is a fair price to ask. I bought her new in 11.2012, always serviced at the same dealer, no accident, all campaigns completed. Nebula grey, red interior, currently @ 27,500 miles. New brakes (OEM pads & rotors) 2k ago. Hankook V12. Absolutely no mods other than the flat-bottom steering wheel and the LED OEM fogs.

The only missing options AFAIK are the front radar & headlight washers. I am trying to get to a spot that is equitable for both.

Thanks for your help.

I think you could start asking 44k. If you want to sell it fast, around 40-42k.

Id say he is about right in the 40-44k range depending on how fast you need to move it.

With how low production these cars are people dont have a ton of options so if they want a mint low mileage 2011+ nebula grey ISF yours would probably be one of the only ones in the country for sale

2012 Nebula grey/red sub 30k mile car ... Definitely nothing under $40k. There is a guy in northern CA wanting $40k for one with 59k miles and he isn't budging. This is one of the rarest, if not THE rarest color combo out there so the right buyer (i.e. not bottom dollar type shopper) will pay what it's worth. People tend to forget that the red interior also came with full leather so it'll age much better than alcantara over time. I certainly love mine, although my car is SFP.

Don't get weak and sell for less as you would be leaving money on the table. Good luck!

Why would leather age better than alcantara?

Seems like leather is the most prone to cracking, fading, and just generally falling apart in older cars.

Always see 1990s ****boxes with cloth interior looking great and leather looking like a pitbull lived in the car lol

A few posts down some people were talking about a car that is the same exact year and color combo of yours selling for $37K and you have 50,000 LESS miles. As long as you're not in a hurry and the car is as clean as you state I would imagine you will find someone that would buy your car in the $40K-$44K range like some of the above posters. No way I would take less than $40K.

Alcantara is subject to abrasive wear in a way that leather isn't. The napped suede texture of Alcantara doesn't hold up particularly well on surfaces that see frequent contact. The steering wheel in my e46 looked like hell after a few years (until I replaced it), but the shift boot was immaculate. For seats, it depends on how careful you are with them. If you're driving from the gym drenched in sweat, it'll do weird things to Alcantara.

Cloth interior is a completely different animal, and much easier to care for than Alcantara (manufacturer says not to use a steam or hot water extractor on Alcantara, although some people do).

I see, my previous car had a alcantara wheel and it would mat down and get nasty over time but cleaning it was as easy as warm water and a rag, few minutes of elbow grease and it was like new.

Either way, everyone likes what they like.

I prefer the leather sides/alcantara insert seats in my 2011 over the full leather.
