Yea, honestly only way to know for sure is to get out there and test....not saying you are wrong or right, just saying ive been in a similar situation where the taller, heavier, should have slown me down 28 inch tall made me a bunch quicker lol.
And yea, a taller tire will make the car look like its leaving soft and care free but the numbers dont lie.
The car im talking of also is factory automatic, stock torque converter, leaving off idle at around 1800 rpm Has pretty aggressive gearing in 1st gear like the ISF....Im not sure if its just the bigger side wall of the 28 inch tire helps or holding in 1st gear a little longer helps, I cant really explain it but real world results is what I have seen.
I understand that it may not make sense to you and on paper, I would have thought my car would be faster with the 26 inch tire which is why I started with it but the car went significantly quicker right off the bat with the 28s.
Id be curious to see how the car worked with the shorter gearing and blower now...maybe spin? shorter gearing and the 28 inch tire combo might work good? This is why we test things lol.
However I will say, major difference in power/torque curves between the cars. My car had a roots style supercharged so instant boost/torque vs the higher RPM breathing F motor with the centrifugal superchargers that make more boost with RPM
Does anyone know if a 28 inch tall tire will fit under a ISF?

Lol exactly, it was a test and tune. Bracket drags it would be a different story. Believe it or not I've won a decent amount of those in the past.
