Question preparing for tomorrow - Track Day - Brake pads concern

Tomorrow i will do my fifth track day and as I get the car ready, i switched the OEM stocks brake pads with Project Mu HC+800 pads front and rear. Went out to do bedding and it went just fine. after i did some brake testing and notice the following situation:

- at normal city traffic driving it seems brake pads does not get to an adequate temperature, i think they stay cold and it have noticeable less bite and stopping power.

- on open road if i get them warmed up to the correct temperature, just need to put little pressure on the break pedal otherwise it stops with an impressive bite and stopping power, but if i drive a few hundred meters and brake again it seems they get cold and goes back to soft bite and softer stoping power.

- what worries me is that braking power will not be constant it will depend on the temperature so in at one point i will need to brake harder and other times softer, which i believe is not safe for the racetrack. I would have to feel how its braking at each point and deciding how hard or soft i need to press the pedal.

Is this normal? it is something specific of the HC+800.

Recommendations?

Something isn't right. I ran those pads and they were very consistent hot or cold.

I don't experience that at all with those pads on my car. The first initial brake application after taking the car out I need to put some extra effort but after the first application they are always on point. Maybe you need to bed them in again? You'll end up doing that at the track any way.

Yes just take it easy on the first lap or 2 and see how they feel but don't forget to have a good time

Like the others above, I've never noticed any cold performance issues with those pads. The broad effective temp range is one of their selling points as a dual-purpose street/track pad.

Echoing Mike and Lance's sentiments here... In fact, a few weeks after swapping my OE pads for the HC +800's, a group of guys and I stayed out in the hill country for a bachelor party, and of all things great about the IS-F, the initial bite and overall braking power is what they were most impressed about.
