Default SRS air bag harness clarification

So my SRS airbag light came on around 8 months ago. I found the post below and pushed the airbag "pin" harness in place and the light went out (the harness seemed secure so I just pushed it down and my light came off).

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ion-tsb-5.html

A few months pass and the light is on again and I wanted to do it the way people have been doing it (push the tab out then insert again). Just wanted to confirm where to place the flat heat. Can you confirm where I pry it with the flat head? Is it the red arrow, white arrow, or the blue arrow.

Also, any other tips to secure it in place? I don't want to damage it as it's a $1,500 part from Lexus. Electrical tape? Crazy glue (LOL..j/k)?

Thanks guys!

See that black piece that's sitting on top. In the middle there's that yellow piece, well that's where you are supposed to put the flat head and lift that yellow piece which will then unlocked. Here's a pic, hopefully you see what I'm talking about

I'm confused....by black piece, are you talking about the blue arrow or the white arrow on my photo?

Holy cow, so it's that yellow tab within the black "box"??? I was way off. Sorry for the confusion. I'll definitely try it out.

Thanks again Sam

you will want to make sure that the "yellow" retainer (on the connector) that no part of the locking tab is broken. when disconnecting make sure the ignition is "off" for a minimum of 90 seconds.

Unless you want to find out how deadly that supposed life saving device really is.

This is correct. I perform safety airbag recall replacements for Lexus.
