Buying a 2008 ISF
Hey guys I'm looking into buying a 2008 ISF with 100k miles. I currently own a 2014 mazda 3. I was thinking about selling the Mazda or just using it as a DD. Is 20k a good price for a blue 2008 with 100k? What are some common issues this car has around 100k or before that I should be looking out for? I will upload pictures tomorrow when I get a chance. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Update: I'm going to see the inside of the car and talk to the guy today. From what I can see on the exterior, it's in pretty bad shape. The inside looks even worse. It has vossens but they're rashed up and barely any tread left. I'm definitely not spending 20k on it. Thoughts?

Keep Mazda for inclement weather. 20 is a good price if it is clean and has had the recalls done. Check maintenance records. I think some 08s needed new valve springs as part of a recall. It may have qualified for new dash as recall.

Ive been reading that Lexus is honoring that up to 10 years after manufacture date and not beyond that

Don't forget the infamous inner tire wear issue - replace LCA bushings/toe links at high mileage.
Optional: replace motor mount bushings when replacing the headers that will inevitably crack at 100K miles or so.

coverage is for 10 years from date of manufacture I believe. 08 is almost up, so you may have missed the deadline on this 08 depending on when it was sold / built. Hopefully someone will correct me if I’m wrong.

If it's in bad shape, I would skip it unless the owner has all the OEM parts that came with the car. Looks like a few aftermarket parts installed.
FYI: Not sure if it matters to you but that's not OEM ISF Taillights. That's from eBay LED tails. I used to have it on my IS250.

Thanks for the heads up. I would have never known about the tails. It's so tempting because I really want an ISF but they're so rare to come by on the island.

That looks really dirty, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad car. Is the hood carbon fiber or just a black gloss oem hood? The wheels haven’t been cleaned in a long time, I have those exact wheels and after almost 2000 miles of driving they weren’t nearly that dirty. You can look at lexus maintenance records for free, just get the vin and register it in an account you make. That’s where I would start. Carfax shows some maintenance records as well.
My concerns:
if you never clean your car, you probably don’t service it regularly.
if your to lazy to clean a car you have up for sale, you probably didn’t service it regularly because your lazy.
random black hood that isn’t carbon, did they just cheap out on a needed replacement? High end cars and cheap skates on maintenance don’t mix well.
if the stuff you see is neglected, you know the stuff you can’t see is neglected. Lexus makes great cars, but it may not have had an easy 100k. How clean is the oil? Is it really dark? Car may need a good maintenance catch up.
