Question Ok, I'm stumped :(

So, a reluctant post as I didn't want to laughed out of the forum. But hey ho, needs must.

Recently bought 08 IS F. Checked everything worked, all good.

Less than a week in, one morning no windows other than the drivers working. Not idea why this happened as battery not disconnected/run flat. Anyway, easily remedied by doing the usual reset procedure and hey presto windows working again.

However, the sunroof/moonroof is not working, manually or via long button press on remote. Reset procedure attempted (or at least what I believe to be the procedure) to no avail, there is no response from the controls at all. No audible evidence the motor is actuating. 25 amp fuse (Slot 8) checked and intact.

Before I start stripping things out am I missing something simple/obvious here?

Any thoughts appreciated as long as it's not outright calling me an idiot. Actually go for it! I just want it fixed

All the best

Post the reset procedure here in case it wasn't correct.

Or take it to an independent Lexus shop. You might have to pay a small diagnose fee if you ought to DIY.

Ignition on, then go to each door and put the window down, then up again using the switch on each door.

The sunroof initialization isn't necessarily simple. The position information is stored in an EEPROM, so it isn't normally affected by a power loss, but somehow the OP's car lost battery power - or the voltage dropped low enough for the Body ECU to think it lost power. At any rate, this is the simple process:

(a) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(b) Press and hold the sliding roof push switch until the following operations are completed:
(1) The sliding roof moves to the tilt fully open position and remains for 1 second.
(2) Tilt down operation starts. After the roof is fully closed, it starts sliding to open.
(3) After the roof slides to the fully open operation, the operation stops and then the roof closes to the fully closed position.

If this does not work, you'll need to clear the EEPROM and start from scratch. That's a little more complicated.
